Patti Heimburger
The artist lives in Alameda, grew up in Long Beach, California and took her first oil painting class at 13. More art classes at a community college in Long
Beach and more in Seattle, Washington; finally, she received a BA in Studio Art at UCSB in Santa Barbara.
All her landscape paintings are created from the artist’s imagination that includes the use of texture. This texture is created by fabric and yarn which is
loosely assembled, randomly applied, then stiffened, and finally painted over in oil. Image is important to the artist as well as the process of creating the
under-painting that has no reference to the subject matter.
Ms. Heimburger is a permanent artist at “The Coastside: A Gallery” (Half Moon Bay). She has exhibited at Triton Museum of Art (Santa Clara) in,
Oakland Museum of CA Collectors Gallery, SF Museum of Modern Art Rental Gallery, and at Hotel Nikko San Francisco for over 2 years, in many
different galleries, art centers, colleges, universities, banks, library, and other public spaces.
"Rich textures and colors are most definitely the hallmarks of her artwork, clearly permeating her
collection of delightful, whimsical oil paintings." Diane Sturgeon
"Oil-and-fabric artist Patti Heimburger loves a challenge. That's why she undergoes a painstakingly
lengthy process of adding yarn and material to her canvas, creating a bumpy, textured field for the
dreamlike figures and landscapes she paints from her imagination."
